Paku Divinity School

The Paku Divinity School is a Baptist Christian bible school located in Taungoo, Bago Division, Myanmar. The PDS is the First Divinity School in Taungoo. The campus can be accessed from both Myo Gyi Road and Boundary Road. The original dormitories of Men and Women Hall are still in use as is PCC Hall, an boarding-style dormitory.PDS is well known for its Band Group. The theology program is approved by Association for Theological Education in Myanmar (ATEM). PDS student athletes engage in spirited competition throughout the entire academic year and are well supported by members of the College community and the greater Taungoo area alike. The men's and women's football ball teams compete in the Taungoo Christian Endeavour athletic conference. The men's volley ball teams compete in PKBA athletic conference. Spurgeon-Mi May Building is for the library. The library has over 9000 books in Karen, Burmese and English languages. The school also has Choir and Quartet team compete in the PKBA Conference and KBC conference.

History

The Paku Divinity School, originally known as Paku Bible School, was founded in 1977. It was established by Paku Karen Baptist Association. The Paku Divinity School is a Christian bible school which produces approximately 80 Christian leaders every year and is affiliated to the Karen Baptist Theological Seminary.The PDS was mainly focused on Theological Studies, however starting from 2008, PDS has launched Basic Computer programs in addition to theological studies as fulfilling the needs of present education system in Myanmar.

  2. Local seminaries graduates (under the auspices of the Karen Baptist Convention) who passed eight standard and obtained 80% and above and had at least one year experience in Christian ministry, will be admitted to the third year course of the #Licentiate in Theology Programme.
  3. Candidates who obtained 70% and above in the entrance will be admitted in the first year L.Th. programme.

  4. Graduates from the L.Th. programme , and obtained 85% and above and had served at least one year in Christian ministry.
  5. Candidates who obtained 70% and above in the entrance examination will be admitted to the first year class.
